Hot time in the old town…

Well, dinner at the Indian restaurant last night was great!  There were seven of us.  Micheal and me, and then the others are all Indian.  We let them order for the most part.  There were 3 appetizers ordered and 7 entrees.  Four of the others were all vegans, so they only ordered vegetarian entrees and Micheal & me and the other guy ordered shrimp and chicken.  Then we all just passed everything around.

Actually, chicken, seafood and lamb were the only meat’s on the menu.  Some of the dishes were made with the Indian equivelent of tofu.  Except for the appetizers and bread, everything was fairly low-fat and low-calorie.  The appetizers were breaded and deepfried, so they weren’t too good for the old diet, but I only ate one of each of the three.  The bread was flat bread, and there was no butter or cheese or anything like that added, so it wasn’t too bad.

But the food was great…spicy, but great!  Chili Pepper  I took only a small amount of each dish.  And practically the first bite I took, was the wrong one!! Sweaty It had a hot pepper on it and it set me on fire!!  Fire Eyes  I mean, I had sweat running off me, my eyes were watering and my mouth was burning!!  Crying 2  Ashwini (I spelled her name wrong yesterday) was getting upset because she thought she’d advised me wrong on the dish I’d chosen.  And she and her husband were all over themselves trying to get foods to me that would put the fire out!!  But I was laughing and she realized I wasn’t upset, so she calmed down.  The waitress (also Indian) was trying to take my dish and bring me a milder one.  I told her it wasn’t mine, it was somebody elses and it was ok.  Everybody was scrambling trying to make me more comfortable and I could only sit there and laugh!!  I told Ashwini that I now understood why most Indian’s were so skinny - the fire in the food burns all the fat and calories off!!!  That got everybody else laughing.

One of the guys working for Micheal was sitting next to Micheal.  He started putting food on Micheal’s plate for him telling him ‘try this, try this’.  Micheal ended up with a heaping plate!  The guy was acting as if he were Micheal’s servant!!  Micheal finally had to tell him to stop!

But I did good!  I didn’t eat much before I was full.  And we really enjoyed ourselves.

So far today I’ve only had some yogurt.  Now we’re getting ready to go out running around.  One thing we’re gonna do is go to Borders and pick up the DiVinci Code since it’s out on DVD now.  I read the book a few months ago and I’ve been wanting to see the movie, but I don’t really like going to theaters (except drive-ins).  And we have to go to Best Buy to exchange some memory Micheal got for his laptop (soon to be mine).  He’s already made two trips and both times they gave him the wrong memory.

rn

Well, I’m gonna get dressed so we can go!  I’ll be back later to read blogs and see if anybody else has magically appeared on here.  So far, there haven’t been very many of my buddies on!  And I won’t be on much tomorrow cuz the weather is supposed to be nice so we’re gonna get up early and go to the Dakota’s so I can get some more keychains for my collection!!

rn

Hope everybody has a great weekend.
