Lesson learned!!

Eating too much of the wrong things is NOT worth it!

I didn?t eat much during the day yesterday?Special K cereal for breakfast and for lunch.  But dinner was a totally different story.  I knew we were going to TGIFriday?s with Micheal?s team from work, so I had saved plenty of points from yesterday and from earlier in the week so that I didn?t even go over, but I still overate during that one meal.  Even if I hadn?t saved up points, with what I had left from yesterday and my flex points, I still would have been ok.  It?s just WHAT I ate and how much!!

rn

rn

I ate some of the appetizers (most of them were deep-fried).  For my meal I ordered salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and a veggie combo.  I ate all my salmon, most of my veggies, and maybe half of my mashed potatoes.

rn

rn

And then there was dessert, which I should have passed on.  But I didn?t.  I had a brownie with ice cream, but didn?t even eat half of it.

rn

rn

I figured it up, and I stayed well within the points I?d allotted for the meal, but I should have stopped before the dessert.  It was just too much food.?a lot more than I?m used to eating at one meal.  And I?m no longer used to the fried junk and the sweet stuff.  This morning my stomach is protesting.  I guess it just doesn?t like that junk anymore.  Go figure!!!

rn

rn

But I also woke up hurting from head to toe, so today?s definitely going to be a lazy day.  I hate it when I wake up hurting.  It makes me feel so worthless when I can?t do anything but sit in the recliner and read or watch TV.

rn

rn

Well, I?m gonna go read a few blogs, then take my Ibuprophen and kick back in the recliner and be a lazy bum.

rn

rn

Oh, and Jo?the ?S? word was ?Shopping?!  Dawnie had made a comment about how often my blogs contain that word!!  And I?m sure you?re not quite so proud of me today, after my dinner last night!!

Those dinners at Friday’s are hard, because they give you the appetizer and the dessert!!! But you did good considering all the food, you only ate some appetizers, half of the potatoes, and part of the dessert.  Thats pretty good!!!  Just stay op now and you will be fine!!!

Don’t worry about that one meal. I know what it is like to have my body protest after a meal though!  It’s not fun, but you did stay within your points range, which is great!  While it is better to eat your food spread out throughout the day, it isn’t too terrible every once in a while to eat a huge dinner with smaller meals earlier in the day, so don’t worry!  Feel better today and have a great weekend!

    Hi Mary
Sorry that you arent feeling well today and that you are sore.
It sounds like you did quite well at dinner.  It sure isn’t easy at a dinner like that but you handled portions well.

Lesson learned like you said and it shows that your body is used to you eating healthier and thats way cool.

Take it easy today so that you’ll feel better for the weekend
    Bye for now

The Dinner you had sounded good except I would have past on the dessert, I have never eat at TGIF’s before I heard they have some good food.  Did you know Applebee’s has a weight watchers menu, I found that out at my first meeting how cool is that now only if they had one closer the 15 miles I might try it!  Oh and one reason I would have past on the dessert is that if I ate it my blood sugar would have been over 500 I freak if it hits 300.  This morning it was 190 I am stuned.

    Hey Mary,

One meal does not a diet make!!  One of my favorite quotes!!  One meal isn’t going to ruin your diet… You did so much better than you would have before!!  And who can fault you for a couple of bites of dessert after a great week on plan..You did great this week!!  You saved up points for one night out and so you went over them a little.. That is O.k..  And what is even better?  You learned from it!!  Next time you’ll pass on that dessert so you can stay in range!!  I’m very proud of you this week…  Keep it up girl!!!

Actually I am proud of you!  So you had a bad meal in the sense that you overdid it.  Hold on to this feeling and remind yourself the next time you feel like splurging!  I have found in these last few days, that ONE splurge day for me, sends me on a downward spiral, so I think IF I decide to splurge, it will be with ONE thing, and not an entire day and/or meal.

LEARNING is the most important part of this journey Mary!

Our bodies  have a way of telling us enough is enough.

To answer your question on my blog, i’m following Bob Greene’s Best life diet.  He takes things in small steps.  Phase has requirements and lasts four weeks.  You amp up your exercise, drink your water, take vitamins, eat breakfast, and come to terms with why you got in the place you are.  You start changing food big time after the four weeks when you enter phase 2.  There are three phases and each one changes a little bit. It helps to start small and not to much at one time.

It is a lesson learned! Our body gets use to us eating right and when we eat things it is not use to anymore POW it sure puts up a protest! You did amazingly good not eating everything, but I bet you pass on the dessert and the fried foods the next time!

    Have a good day!

You may feel BAD but you are doing GREAT! I hope the protest  is over soon. The recliner sounds good though! Hang in there !
