White stuff on my balcony…

Good morning, Y?all!

rn

rn

There was white stuff on my balcony again this morning!  Is it ever gonna end?  People I?ve talked to here said this is unusual.  I guess I can live with it.  It?s even supposed to be cold in Arkansas this weekend, and it?s been hot the past few days!  Sometimes it just seems the cold weather if following us around?maybe paying us back for avoiding it the past few years?  Who knows!!

I?m in countdown mode!  Heading to Boston tomorrow night then on the plane to Arkansas the next morning.  We?re gonna spend the night at the airport Hilton and make our trip in to the airport a little less stressful.  We can park in the airports long-term lot, take Hilton?s shuttle to the hotel, then catch it back to the airport Friday morning.  The Hilton?s a bit pricy, but it will be worth it to not have the headache of the drive in Friday morning.

We got a couple of quotes on auto insurance yesterday, and it?s not gonna be quite as bad as we thought.  We can even get a discount just because of my truck.  It seems a couple of companies give a 10% discount if you drive a Subaru.  Sweet!  I knew there was a reason I love my Baja!!!!  And Micheal?s shopping for a Subaru, too, so that will be an even bigger discount!

I found out yesterday that my daughter isn?t even gonna make an effort to come to the reunion, even though my Dad and I both offered to pick her up.  Guess I?m gonna have to go there if I want to see my new granddaughter.  The bad part is she?s living with her dad and step-mother.  That will be an enjoyable visit, if they?ll even let me in the house, which I?m not looking forward to.  I was there about a year or so ago, and it wasn?t pretty.  The house is a disaster area.  There is so much junk piled up that there were only small paths to walk around inside the house.  The kitchen counters were so piled up, the only surface you could see was in front of the microwave.  The sink was piled high, and even the top of the stove was covered.  If you touched anything, there would be an avalanche!  I don?t even want to think about what they do about food!  It wasn?t any better outside.  When you pull into the driveway, if you don?t park to one side, there?s not even room to get out of the vehicle!  And it used to be wide enough to park two cars side-by-side?4 if you parked in the yard!  But, I guess if I want to see my new granddaughter, I?ll have to overlook all that crap.  It?s just painful cuz I used to live there and I hate seeing the place trashed like that.  Sometimes we just have to suck it up and do what we really don?t want to do.

rn

Ok, no more ranting.

I?m still hanging in there, keeping on track and drinking all my water.  I haven?t lost any weight, but I haven?t gained either.  I?m a bit concerned about this weekend because of all the good southern cooking, but I?m gonna work hard at being good.  I?ll get all my water in, and try to pick only good things to eat?well, maybe I?ll have just a taste of some of the other things.

rn

Well, I?m off to read blogs.

Y?all have a fantabulous day!!!

Go Figure!

Good morning, Y?all.

rn

rn

I slept in this morning.  Micheal got up when the alarm went off at 6:30, but I didn?t.  I?ve been sleeping a lot more than normal lately.  My norm is 4-5 hours a night, but for some reason I?m now sleeping 7-8 hours a night!  What?s up with that?  I haven?t even talked about it cuz I don?t want to jinx it, but this is really weird!  Now why, all of a sudden, would I start sleeping more?  Go figure!

rn

rn

And while I?m in ?Go Figure? mode?why do some people have to be such jerks?  I?m sittin here enjoying my coffee this morning, and this horn keeps honking down in the parking lot almost right below my balcony.  I look out the slider and there?s a cab sitting there, and every minute or so he honks his horn.  I mean, it?s not just a couple of short toots, it?s multiple blasts! ?..beep, beep, beepbeep, beeeeeep, beepbeep!  Then a minute or so later?bebeep, beep, beeeeeeeeep, bebeep.  The jerk!  So finally I open the slider, stick my head out and give him a dirty look.  He sticks his head out the window and asks if I ordered a cab.  I tell him no, but he?d better knock off the honking cuz he already woke up the baby (baby? Hehe, somebody in the building?s probably got a baby, right?) and I?m gonna call the cab company!  He ducks his head and takes off!!!!!

rn

rn

I just have very little patience for inconsiderate bozo?s like him.  You can?t tell me he can?t get enough fares around here without sitting out there for 10 minutes (actually, it was closer to 15) blasting his horn.  He could have called dispatch and had them call the person who wanted a cab and tell them he was out there.  They always ask for a phone number in case they can?t find you?at least that?s been my experience with cabs.

rn

rn

So I think we?ve just about decided that we?re gonna drive into Boston Thursday night, spend the night at the hotel there at the airport, and take the shuttle to the airport Friday morning.  We were discussing options last night.  A cab or shuttle from here is gonna cost us around $60-$65 each way.  If we drive to the airport, we?ll have to leave here at least 4 hours before our flight time.  It?s a little over an hour?s drive, but with toll booths and commute traffic, we may be cutting it close leaving 4 hours early.  And Easter weekend.  We?d forgotten to figure that in.  And, it?s Logan?the airport where planes flew out of on 9/11.  We?ve been told security is a lot tighter there than anywhere else, and to be prepared to have our bags and bodies extensively searched!  They said even the hooks on your bra will set that thing off!!!!

rn

rn

When we fly to California Memorial Day week, we?re gonna see about flying out of Connecticut or Rhode Island!  That will be just as close, and probably a less hassle!

rn

rn

Oh, and more fun yesterday.  We found out we?re gonna have to change auto insurance carriers cuz ours doesn?t cover Massachusetts.  It?ll cover us til we get something else, or if we don?t actually move here, but if we officially relocate, we?re gonna have to change.  Now ain?t that the pits?  And we?ve been told to brace ourselves when we find out the cost!!!!  Ouch!!!!!!!!

rn

rn

Now we?re wondering if we really want to live in Massachusetts.  But, guess we?re gonna.  At least the people are friendly, and apartment rates aren?t too awfully bad.  And it shouldn?t be too hot during the summer.  It could be worse.  Micheal?s office could have been in downtown Boston.  Or the job could have been in New York City.

rn

rn

Ok.  I feel a little better now.  I?ve gotten all my morning ranting over with.  I?ve had my breakfast (a bowl of rice), and I?m working on my second cup of coffee.  Now I?m gonna go read some blogs.

Y?all have a fantabulous day!!!!

Going, going….but not gone!!

Good morning, Y?all!

rn

rn

Yup, I did it again, but this time 2 days.  We were just going so much this weekend.  And while we were home, I was giving Micheal my undivided attention.

rn

rn

Got up Saturday morning, got dressed and drove to Boston to locate the airport so we?d know where we are going and how long it would take us to get there next Friday.  That was so easy.  Two different highways go straight from here right into the airport.  Coming back wasn?t so easy.  We got lost.  Twice.  But that?s ok.  We weren?t in any hurry.  The main thing we need to know is how to get there so we don?t miss our flight.

rn

rn

We got back to Woosta and ran around here a bit.  We went shopping, looked at some new cars (no we didn?t buy one), and just kicked around.

rn

rn

Yesterday we kinda did the same, without the trip to Boston.  We lazed around here for a while, then went out and had a late breakfast.  After that we went shopping again.  I?m sooo lucky to have a husband that likes to shop!

rn

rn

We spent about an hour walking around in Pier 1.  There was this one woman in there?she was going all ga-ga over the stuff that was on clearance?.and breaking stuff.  I don?t know how many crashes we heard while we were in there…at least half a dozen.  And it wasn?t all clearance stuff.  Apparently the staff knew her cuz after the first crash one of them called her by name and said she?d clean it up.  After the second, I?d have been escorting her out the door, but they didn?t!  I wonder if she got charged for all the stuff she broke.

rn

rn

We went to Bed Bath and Beyond after that.  We spent way more than an hour in there, and we walked every aisle in that store at least once and some twice!  We spent the rest of Sunday just relaxing?well, except for laundry, but Micheal did that for the most part.  I just helped put it away.

rn

rn

So I got in a lot of walking this weekend and a couple of trips up and down the stairs.  And I didn?t do too bad on eating, but I didn?t keep up with it too closely.  I decided that it was gonna be a splurge weekend since I?ve been totally on program for at least the past month without going over my calorie allowance even once.

rn

rn

But this week it will be back to no nonsense.  I?ve got a few things to take care of since we?re flying out Friday morning.  And I want to be sure to get plenty of rest, since it?s gonna be a long, busy weekend.  My sister called last night and told me what all has been planned as far as food is concerned anyway.  And it?s gonna be sandwiches, chili, and potluck.  Everything I don?t need!!  But I?ll be ok.  I know how to limit myself and make good choices.  Besides I?ll have my watchdogs (Micheal and my son) watching everything I eat!!!  So I know if I start to reach for something I shouldn?t have, I?ll get my hand slapped!

rn

rn

Well, I?m off to read blogs.  There?s a ton of them (2 days worth), so if I don?t comment on yours, forgive me.
