Today is a bit better. I’m still hurting, but it’s not quite as bad. At least I got up and got dressed this morning. I’m just having a very difficult time moving. But it’s better, and that’s a good thing.

I’ve been fighting with myself over something. I know breakfast is important, but… Ok, here’s how it is. If I get up in the morning and don’t eat breakfast, and don’t eat anything all day, I can eat a sensible dinner and not overdo and I’m good. When I eat breakfast I’m hungry all day! I’m constantly fighting with myself to keep from grabbing something and eating it. I can drink my water, drink coffee or Crystal Lite and not even want anything to eat, til I take that first bite, then the battle is on!! It doesn’t matter whether I’m at home, on the road, out shopping or what, if I eat breakfast, I’m craving food the rest of the day! The only exception is if I have a big breakfast like this weekend. Then I don’t get hungry until late in the evening, when I really shouldn’t be eating.
rn
I’ve tried guzzling my water, chewing gum, sucking on hard sugar-free candies. That doesn’t help. I need to find some kind of middle ground. I’m going to try different foods for breakfast, in the hope of finding something that will be filling and sustain me, without using up most of my points. So far I’ve not had any luck. No matter what I eat, my stomach is growling an hour later (with the exception of that big breakfast). The same thing happens after lunch. I eat lunch and an hour later my stomach is growling.
rn
So for now I’m gonna start experimenting with different foods and keeping a record of how I feel an hour, two hours, even 3 hours after I eat them. I’m gonna find the one food (or combination of) that I can eat and not feel hungry an hour later. I don’t care if they’re conventional breakfast foods or not. If I can eat a sensible portion and it sustains me for several hours, then that will be my breakfast food. And if anybody has any suggestions, they’ll be very welcomed!!!

I didn’t eat breakfast this morning. I had a bowl of potato soup for lunch, and I am feeling full from it. Let’s see how long that lasts.
rn
Now for another challenge. Friday night Micheal is taking his crew out for a motivational dinner, and I’m expected to go. We’ll be going to an Indian restaurant.
rn
All of the people working for Micheal are Indian (I’m talking about from India, not Native American) and all but one are vegetarians. I’ve only been to an Indian restaurant twice, and the food was great, but that’s been almost a year ago! And if I’m not mistaken, most of the food is very low calorie and low fat! If anybody knows any different, please let me know. I do know that most Indians are skinny, and the ones we have had dinner with in the past were big eaters, so I’m hoping I won’t have to worry too much about what I eat. Well, there is one thing I’ll have to watch out for…fried plantains! Those are soooo gooood and totally irresistable. They can’t be good for my diet cuz they’re fried in butter! But if I can restrict myself to just a couple of bites I should be ok there.
rn
As I said I was going to do yesterday, I left dinner up to Micheal. He brought home chicken, potato salad and slaw. But I didn’t do too bad. I managed to stay within my points allowance.
rn
I’m just trying to make this work. I’ve found myself struggling lately and I need to get back on solid ground. I don’t know how my weight is doing. I haven’t been able to weigh myself since I’ve been in Minneapolis, and won’t get to again til I get back home next week. I’m hoping I at least maintained, though I am a bit concerned about it. I said concerned, not worried. If I have gained, I will get it off. I have to. I’ve come this far already and I can’t go back to where I was or worse. That’s just not a possibility.
rn
By the time I get back home our insurance will be in effect so if I have to I’ll find a doctor and see what my options are. Maybe a doctor can recommend a diet that I won’t have to struggle with so much. And sometimes insurance will pay for dieticians, nutritionists and physical trainers if a doctor recommends it. Those are possible options I’ll look into. Maybe the insurance will pay for a health club that has a pool I can use!! Now that I can handle!
rn
Ok, so that’s my day. How’s yours going?

And remember: Don’t let a little slip ruin your trip!!!
